Heather Longmuir, age 34

Heather Longmuir, Moncton, N.B., was bludgeoned to death by her boyfriend early in January, 1999. The police discovered her body on February 17th, after her father who lived in Ontario, came to Moncton to find her and reported her missing. Heather’s boyfriend had wrapped up her body and hid it in a hockey bag in a shed in Memramcook. Police concluded that Heather was killed in the basement of the home they had shared in Moncton. He was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment without eligibility for parole for 14 years. Victim Services reports that Heather’s father was grief stricken and described her as a loving daughter.
