Dorothy Ann (Archer) Waycott, age 40

Dorothy (Archer) Waycott, Saint John, N.B., was stabbed nearly 40 times with six different steak knives by her husband and died on November 12, 1992 in their apartment. They had dated as teenagers and after their previous marriages ended, they married and moved to Toronto. Dorothy decided to moved back to Saint John with her eldest daughter because he was becoming obsessively possessive and jealous. He followed her to Saint John and they reconciled, but his delusions, accusations and jealousy increased. After killing Dorothy, he called the police and then slit his wrists and stabbed himself. He survived and plead guilty to manslaughter and is serving a 20 year sentence. Dorothy had 2 daughters and a son from a previous marriage and would now have 2 grandchildren. She loved music and dancing, and was very creative and outgoing. She was a family person who enjoyed spending time with her children.
